Replacing Turn Signal Switch
Okay....my brights stay on forever so I decided its time for a new switch....I have the new turn signal switch and when you lay it out and look at all the connectors it's a vascular surgeons dream! Their must be over a dozen and a half wires to connect, and several connectors are spliced midway along longer wiring. A minature wire harness alright.
Common sense dictates of course I put my forehead spot light on while under the dash and map the old wire trace out; after all if I miss one connection I could be in deep @#234! Has anyone had the experience of replacing those big, bulky old switches? Were talking left side (turn signal - brights)? If so, can you kindly pass on any tips to make the switcheroo less complicated...........I do not expect a problem getting to the switch, its just the replacement part. Many thanks Bob 73.5T  |
Disregarding your question, are you running H4s or equiv.? If so, have you put the relays in?
The signal stalk can be made to work again by bending the bar that the stalk moves. I just put in the relays and performed the bend and all is well. Ignore me if you've heard this all before! John |
I tried fixing my old switch after I put the ralays in and no luck? When I replaced the stalk I just replaced the new wires as I removed the old ones - one at a time. I had to remove the dash light switch to get at the wires. No problem.
