Help getting wrist pins out ..

Normaly i dont have an issue with this , but currently i am stumped and frustrated.. thought would give it up for the night rather than continue to work frustrated..

i am dealing with alusils so am trying to leave the pistons and cylinders intact. i slid the cylinders off so i could clear the wrist pin . then i took out the spring clip. the problem is how do i get the wrist pins out .. i have to pull them out rather than push them obviously .

i fashioned a rudimetary slide hammer , but after moving about a quarter they stop dead. i have tied to so far with the same result. maybe i need to fashion a better tool ? these things are just not moving ( i dont want to bend a rod ) . i put a 8 inch bolt through the closed end of a wrench , then through the wrist pin , then onto a washer that just covers the wrist pin at the other side. and then a nut.

i then hit the wrench with a hammer to knock them out . i have tried to so far and both move a little then stop dead.

What am i doing wrong ? or is this generally an arduous task? i dont want to do any damage and replace more than i need to .

If they had been nickies i would have just popped the cylinders off drove them out ... this is frustrating.

i guess worse case i could build a puller like the guy did in the other thread I searched . couldnt find anything else though.

anyone have any tips ?

I struggled with mine, was a fight to get them all out. I fashioned a slide hammer like tool as well.
One thing I didn't try but should have was to warm up the pistons, could try a heat gun or hair dryer.

Just a thought, keep trying they do come out

Old wive's tale about needing to leave the piston/rings in the exact same place w/alusils. Just take the cylinder off and do it the easy way. No guarantee that the rings are even in the proper position. I never had any issues.

Ice, did you try taking a heat gun to the piston? I did that on install and they slid in.
