gearbox chatter

I have some gearbox chatter at low rpm. It mostly goes away when I hold onto the gearshift lever or put pressure on it one way or another. What do you think that is attributable to?
Thanks
Sheldon

Shift linkage vibrations.

What's your idle speed?

We have a couple of cars fitted with light flywheels (3.0SC) an Aluminium clutches.

At 800 rpm idle there is a slight shake that causes some chatter from the transmission with the box in neutral.

At 960 rpm it does away, its is also fine in gear and under load.

I have gear chatter in my 1966 TR4 and I believe it is from a warn out gear box.

We just discussed this issue a few weeks ago. It MAY be the G50 chatter which is normal.

Transmission 'chatter' - time for a rebuild?

My 915 in 82SC is pretty noisy specifically if you load it up in a higher gear at low rpm. I figured bearing noise and I was up for a rebuild at some point. Maybe it's normal ...
