Selling 1973 911s
Hey Guys,
I am having back problems that is preventing my from driving my car. I am going to put it up for sale, and purchase a newer car with a Tiptronic Tranny. I am wonding what you recommend as the best way to sell the car. Michael |

Sorry to hear of your misfortune! I would try the Porsche Market Letter. That is where I purchased my car from. Do you have any pics of it?

If it's an S I don't think you will have any trouble selling it after your post. Wasn't Marc looking for one some months back?

Michael,
Bill was correct, I was looking for one for a friend, but we found one. Ironically, I might be putting mine up for sale soon because my wife and I want to move (to many events in the past two weeks living in NYC)and I am liquidating some of my toys. I will ask around for you... please forward me the specs on the car along with any pictures and I will see what I can do. All The Best, Marc |

Marc,
I have posted the car in the for sale section on this board. I can e-mail you some details of the car if you have an e-mail address. I am hoping to scan all the documents that I have on the car. Michael |

You're in Huntington Beach? L.A. Times, S.F. Chronical ads...and hire a girl to handle the calls! Pretty car. Targas not my favorite, but some S fans prefer them...
pretty, pretty car! |

Hinted at that in my post..real, numbers matching 2.4 911S's? They are RARE AND DESIRABLE. Don't know the numbers on '73, but in '72, well under 1,000 "S" Targas were made...world wide! IMHO, this car should never have been placed on ebay...but now that you've done it, I'll be very interested in what the final bid is...repaint & all...

Well, I'm imagining what those word-meisters at California Classix could do with it. They recently sold a 1970 911T for over $12,000. Wish there'd been more pictures of the interior - pet peeve.

Micheal that is a great car, and so well taken care of, I also would love to see what it goes for, and good luck with the new Porsche.

Too bad you weren't out at German Fest....there was a 73S with a Sportomatic that sold for $12,500. Decent car...all records, rust free, just was a little "tired". I drove it, and decided to pass, as I didn't need the car...

That is a great price for a true S, I would consider selling my car for that low.

Hmmm something tells me either you forgot an "n't" in that sentence, or you should give me a call right away *wink wink nudge nudge*

I must say that this is something that I rarely see on EBAY: A high reserve that is justified.
