Hello,
I have been updating my 1980 911's black interior with brushed aluminum trim pieces (shift knob, inner door handles, etc). But some pieces seem to be unavailable in the US. In particular, I'm thinking of brushed aluminum gauge rings, ebrake handles, door lock knobs, etc. I have found sources in the UK and one source in America (ImageAuto) which has a dysfunctional website. Sadly, I haven't been able to find those products at Pelican. Wayne, may I ask if you are planning on adding brushed aluminum interior trim products for older 911's? It seems to be a very popular style these days. Thanks, ------------------ Janus Cole 1980 911SC & 1987 944 |

Hey yeah, thanks very much! I just ordered the lock buttons and ebrake handle. Still no source for the gauge rings, though. But the prices on the lock buttons and ebrake handle are great. I would, of course, prefer to get this stuff from Pelican. But these seem to be very hard to find products in the States. Any chance we'll see aluminum dress-up kits from Pelican in the future? Wayne?

Janus-
I did alot of aluminum trim in my car and got all the pieces from a rennlist supporting sponsor www.imagineauto.com. Have the bezel rings,h/b, lock knobs, and door button as well as a/c controls. All can be seen on my homepage. And if you like Stephen at Imagine can get the stuff. http://members.rennlist.com/type930/ Go to interior section. I ordered a set of gauge rings to match the aluminum center of my Momo wheel. The one I got were from the UK. To put it lightly they stunk. They looked like they were some cheap stick on deal, which they were. The paint on my rings was oxidizing somehow so I just decided to sand and paint. What I found was you can polish the rings. The Momo I have has sort of a brushed alumninum center so I stopped when I got a finish to match. The first one I took apart, the rest I did without disassembling the gauges. Just be careful not to scratch the glass. It looks great and requires a bit of metal polish about every 6 months or so depending on the weather. If you are interested in a better pic let me know. Well I can't seem to get the thing small enuf and my heads hurts too much to think about it. Email me and I will shoot one your way.

Type930: That is one beautiful car. I'm hoping my interior will be half as nice as yours when I am finished. As for getting the parts, I tried the imagineauto site. But their website doesn't function properly. I wasn't able to complete my order. Your car is, however, a great advertisement for their products.
rcilurso: I have always wondered if I could sand my existing rings. I was tempted to buy them from the UK at a place called Type911 (is this where you got yours?). But I hesitated and now I'm glad. May I ask how you managed to sand the rings without scratching the lenses? Did you mask them off? Thanks, ------------------ Janus Cole 1980 911SC & 1987 944 |

try calling Stephen at +1 (913) 310-9927 if the web site is not able to complete your order. I have many billet pieces as Doug does: e brake handle, gauge rings, lock knobs, lock buttons and light switch inserts. I am sure you will be happy with the quality as the pieces originate in Europe.
