Greetings Pelicans
I got on the Pelican Parts website and was disappointed to find that they don't stock batteries for my old 911T. I've still got the original set-up of 2 batteries in the recessed pockets in the front fenders. Does anyone have any recommendation on where I can get the batteries I need? For that matter is there a recommendation for a specific battery to buy. I priced a battery place here in Fallbrook and they want $162 or one..............I doubt the chain stores carry them. Thanks, Dirty Marty Fallbrook, CA ![]() |

Most relocate to the smugglers box or you can find threads regarding small after market batteries with cutting board techniques, etc.
As for keeping in the original spot, Interstate makes/made a battery that fits...I believe the part # is actually 911U or the likes...I have one in my 1973. No need for 2 with modern batteries unless you like the look, weight etc.

To keep your Porsche as original as possible, go with two.
I thought I had studied this up completely last fall but there's always some new facts to get in the way! Two batteries come to mind: The Interstate U911. This one is a lead acid one, the one I bought thinking it was not lead acid. The Mazda Miata battery is a layered glass battery that will not leak. While I went with the Interstate U911 and have not had problems, I wish I'd selected the Miata. Both fit perfectly. Lots of folks like the Optima and other brands. They will not fit and must be adapted to the frunk and, while perfectly functional, they take your originality down a notch. Tom |
