pedal assembly

Is it common for a clutch pedal to brake or come loose from the main pedal cluster? And if so could it be welded or should I just buy a new one?

Help Jimbo2

No, they don't break. The clutch pedal is held on to the shaft by a roll pin. The roll pins often shear when the clutch becomes too stiff.

Wow. I think you've got other issues causing this...maybe a broken help spring at the trans, bad clutch, etc...

What year is your car? I've got a spare pedal laying around here somewhere, but it is from an pre-boosted setup. Let me know if ya need it.

78 911 Targa. I think its from a bad cable, that couldn't be adjust any more.....I had to push to the floor just to get the clutch to work.
