How to manually close a sunroof

Hi,

I need to completely close the sunroof of a 73t.
Electrical motor is not working for the moment.
How may I do it ?
Any manual way?

Thanks.

When the cables broke on my '82 (with the sunroof open), I was able to pull on the sunroof part of the headliner and slide it back. On the sliders on either side, there were two steel prongs. I used those to pull the sunroof closed and lock it in place. Hope this helps, unfortunately I don't have pictures of the process.

Google 911 sunroof tool. You might have one in your toolkit.

I would advise everyone that has a sunroof to go out and try to use this tool. On my car the screw that you have to loosen was so tight. Road side fix was not going to happen. Glad I did it in the garage just for kicks.

I didn't have the sunroof tool in my '88 kit. Can it be used on the '88 sunroof? I remember unzipping the liner, but didn't see anywhere such a tool could be used so I thought it wasn't useful for an '88. Am I wrong and in need of a crank just in case?

jlex: You need the tool pictured above. You must remove 3 screws that hold some cardboard that covers the motor.
