California Emissions reqts. for a 1978 SC?

So I have a 1978 911 SC I bought from out of state and will be taking it in tomorrow for a smog test required for CA registration.

I have verified the visual components are hooked up correctly, have set the timing to 5* BTDC and the idle to 950 RPM. Running 91 octane fuel and will have the cat warm when I take it in.

I'm thinking about getting a pre-test because I am worried about getting labeled a 'gross polluter' if I don't pass for some reason.

Question: Does anyone know how to find the current emission standards for my car which will be applied (i.e CO, NOX, HC)?

I suppose the technician will tell me them if I fail, but I want to verify what those numbers are ahead of time. Also, any other suggestions?

Thanks.

I know of a place in San Diego that will do the pre-test. I imagine there is one in the LA area as well that will take care of you.

I'm not sure if there is any difference between your car and a car that was sold originally in CA. That may be an area of concern.

Many test stations will do a pre test. You just have to pay for it. Be sure to have car tuned up and a fresh oil change. Also put 40 psi in rear tires. A pre test is a good idea because it does not go to the state and will let you go home and fix what it needs.
