Rubber Bump Stops in Boge front struts in rough shape should I replace?

I started taking my drivers side front strut apart to figure out which style insert I need (85 had either a inner thread or outer thread nut) When I removed the dust cover I noticed the rubber bump stop inside the cover was in pretty rough shape. Should I replace the bump stop? And if so where do I find it? I checked PP's parts catalog and couldn't find anything for the bump stop.

I can post a pic if anyone wants to see what the rubber stop looks like. It's not totally shot but the bottom of it is pretty torn up.

On another note, this "quick" removal of the brake calipers to paint them is getting expensive. Now it's new struts and shocks, Installing my turbo tie rods since my existing tie rod ends have torn dust covers, installing new ball joints for same reason as tie rods.

While you're in there once again strikes an unsuspecting victim. :D

If you go with Bilstein inserts you won't need the rubber bump stops in your Boge struts.

I've read that but I can't see spending that much on struts for a street car. I'm going back to Boge or considering KYB inserts.

You can just replace the inserts with Bilsteins, not the whole strut. I can't believe that Bilsteins inserts are that much more expensive than the Boges.
I'm sure that our host has the rubber bump stops, but I'll be d@mned if I can find them in their catalog.

I understand I can replace the insert but they're about $50 to $70 more per insert than Boge. For that much difference I can about do all 4 for just the cost of the Bilsteins. And honestly, I can almost buy all 4 of hte KYB for the cost of 1 Bilstein. For that cost difference I can replace the struts more often If I want to. And again I'm not tracking the car so I don't see the need to spend that much on the struts.

For anyone wondering
Bilstein insert for Boge strut housing $213 each from out host
Boge insert $113 from our host
KYB insert $59.75 from our host

These prices are for the inserts with the threads on the inside which is early 85 production.

So yeah, I could buy all four KYB for about the cost of 1 Bilstein.
