Limited slip how do you tell?

Took my '79 coupe into the shop yesterday and we discussed all sorts of things that I should and should not do over the winter. One of the should dos was a limited slip diff if I want to keep going to the track. So how do you tell what diff. you have in the car without jacking up the car and spinning the wheels?

Thanks for all the answers on the bumpers! Made the decision on which bumpers even harder. I hear Shaw has the best fit but just not the style I want. Any feed back on the better brands that fit easily?

Easiest and quickest way I know of to tell if limited slip or not....jack up the donkey end. What's so hard about jacking up the car?

In '72, dunno about later years, the stamped transmission number would tell. But I don't know the numbers. In my car's case, it doesn't matter anyway...I went over a too high speed bump...some of my transmission numbers got ground away...but I know the limited slip is there.

If the car is equipped with a factory (ZF) LSD, the code "220" should be on the options list.

Now let me get this straight.......YOU are in Cabo.

What the heck are you doing wasting time in Cabo on a stupid PC viewing all this drivel????

I know there has to be better things to do in Cabo even if one is not into sport fishing.....

When you get back home you will very fond memories of your vacation time well spent on-line at Pelican.

Oh-Joy.

What could be better than a 2# plater from the Shrimp House, a few Coronas, sunshine, beauties everywhere including the one sunning on the balcony and worrying about how to spend your next dime on a Porsche

I am sitting here going through 23 years of service records! Now that is what I call fun and I am damn happy to finally have the time to sort through them and ask some questions Heck, I can always go fishing later!
