Feedback on Adapters to install Boxster Calipers on 911 SC

Looking to install Boxster calipers on my 1981 SC. Strictly for looks (so no need to go there ;) )

Any real difference that would suggest to go with TRE or Rebel Racing bracket kit? Cost wise, they are almost the same price...

I can't find photos of the TRE kit...

I used Rebel w 996/boxster s calipers. No problems

I'd say it's safe to say that both kits would be fine. I've only heard good things about this upgrade.

Wish I had photos of the ones from TRE... I will give Dave a call to see if he has any to send me.

A buddy of mine did that conversion on his 911 track car. He loved it!

Prior to that he used a set of Wilwood brakes, and they were far too powerful. It was like every time you would hit the brakes the wheels would lock, LOL.

You are going to have a much better time of it. Enjoy!

TRE & Rebel partner in various things. So I wouldn't be surprised if you ended up with the same exact parts if you happened to buy both!

If you want simple & cheap and you do the rest yourself (bolts & brake lines) Charlie Timmons makes nice stuff for reasonable prices

Hummmm... 190.00 for all four adapters!

I need to see where I could source the brake lines.... bolts are easy to find at the local ACE Hardware store...

Thank you Kevin!

sorry to bump the old thread, but, did you end up ordering the adapters from that timmons billet site? $190 for all 4 seems VERY reasonable. I'm in need of new calipers, going from 3" boge struts to 3.5" biltein, thought it might be a good excuse to upgrade to 996/boxster brakes...

Sorry, I ordered the Rebel Racing bracket kit...since it came with brake lines and everything needed. Just laziness on my part since I did not want to deal with trying to find or make the brake lines...
