Steelies versus Alloys
I have been waiting patiently to get a set of new chrome steelies for my 71T, because they are period correct for my car and I just love the classic look of steelies and hubcaps.
However I have recently heard (unconfirmed) that the driving experience is not good and one owner thought it felt like his steering was broken and he had lost 30hp when he swapped to steelies, so went to back Fuchs. Is this true or just an urban myth? ![]()

More of a myth than anything IMO. They may weigh a bit more so they would change the feel of the car but I can't imagine it having a big effect.
But I've never actually driven a 911 with steelies.

I went from cookies to Fuchs to steelies on my 912. Couldn't tell the difference.
