I have a 1973 911 Porsche Targa. I need to replace the front seat belts. They both come up from the rear and thru a slot in the rear panels. How do I remove the panels and get the seat belts thru the slots? Thanks. Also what is the best book that I can get to work on my Porsche.

Remove the screws from the upper portion of the interior panel, disconnect the speaker if equipped. Be careful not to mix up screws as they are usually a different length. Disconnect the seat belt and slide the pieces of belt through the trim panel. As for repair manuals for that car the factory really did a great job back then. If you're serious about keeping your car on the road look for a second hand or reproduced set of Original Factory Repair Manuals aka Shop Manual.
