Automotion Strut Brace Install??
HI all -
recently picked up an automation strut brace, and have some questions on the install - http://www.***************/performance-strut-brace-red-blue-911-912-930-for-porsche.html# http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1426393077.jpg My brace actually fits behind the strut top, NOT like the one in the picture - HERE's my question - the thickness of the bracket that goes where the allen camber bolts are is over 1/4" thick - I'm SURE that I should use a longer allen bolt, yes? If yes, what are the dimensions of the stock allen bolts, so that I can find slightly longer ones for the install. any ideas where to get said allen bolts in the correct length? many thanks - td |
Easiest way is to take on out and take it to the local hardware store and buy ones that are the thickness of the plate longer. Probably 8-10mm.

Make sure it is Grade 8 or stronger.
Insure all areas have clearance before shutting the Frunk |
Thanks guys -
I was hoping that someone might have access to the PET for this part - and be able to describe precisely what allen bolt I need - only in a longer length. Pretty sure my 'local hardware store' which is either an ACE or HOME DEPOT is not precisely the best place to get something like this - but I could be wrong! If I get onto the McMaster-Carr site, I don't know which threads, etc I'm looking for - thanks for your help - td |
Assuming this is for your '76, and not a 993 like in the photo, PET says it's M10 x 20mm.

YES! Thank you Graham - that's what I was looking for!
It is for my '76 tub - cheers td |
