Storing 911T 2.4 engine for a year - best practice
Hello everyone,
The engine from my '72 T is coming out within a week for rust repair and body work on the chassis. I estimate it could be up to a year before I have finished everything I want to do to the body and am ready for the engine again. This engine is a 2.4 with Webers - I want to hear recommendations on how best to prepare the engine for this extended storage. I am really only concerned about the fuel in the carbs at this point, so I would appreciate all suggestions. Thanks

The webers have drain plugs for each bowl to drain the fuel. I would just take each plug out and let the motor sit that way for a couple of days and then screw the brass plugs back in or you could do that and take to tops off for inspection and take paper towels to any residue.

Thanks, that seems like the best option.. I am brand new to carbs but I know what a headache dried fuel and varnish can be.
