1989 3.2 Carrera-disabling brake pad sensor with race pads
Hi All,
I plan to install new performance brake pads on my 1989 3.2 Carrera. Since it seems some brands do not have slots for the pad wear sensors, do I need to disable my pad wear sensor system and, if so, how do I do that? Thanks, Jonathan |
You could do as others on here have done. And that is leaving it connected and use a cable tie to secure it
Yep, just tie them out of the way.
Mine are zip tied. I believe the brake warning light will come on if you disconnect the sensor. Not positive about that though.
+4, yes disconnecting the sensors will open the circuit and cause the light to come on.
Thank you. I will tie them off with zip ties. After this NE winter, I cannot wait to get back on the road.
sort of half-assed, but I cut my wires back to the firewalls then just connected the leads in a loop (one to the other) ...no more warning light.
