Does anyone know a vendor that sells the body work shown in the photo of Carlos Sainz 911 rally car?
It appears to be different than typical 911 SCRS bodywork in that it is clearly designed and molded to be bolted on, and does not have smooth edges etc. I checked with the usual suspects on the west coast but nothing. Some have 934 style bolt on's available, but they require turbo flares first. Thanks for your help, Jeff ![]() |

Kind of looks like 934 bodywork?
![]() Edit: you're right about the narrow body...my bad.

Dave at TRE was looking at producing some for the carrera flared cars. I would check with him first...

I heard back from Dave at TRE, what they do for this setup is use the 934 bolt on flares (which they sell and are also available Getty) and modify the flares to fit a narrow G body.
For the front lower valence, they take a 934 part and cut it to narrow it and make it fit. At this point I haven't been able to locate anything with an exact fit, or any vendors in Europe. Thanks, Jeff |

There you go: http://www.lester.it/en/dettaglio.php?a=2180
All those gr4 body parts can be found there, even the prices seem to be reasonable.

Hi Esa911sc - thank you so much for the tip on Lester. From the photos, that seems to be exactly what I am looking for, and as you said the prices are reasonable.
As far as I'm concerned, a much better idea than trying to make 934 parts fit a narrow body. They even have dealers/vendors in the USA. Going to contact them today. |

I wonder if you would need "race" suspension, stiff like a baseball bat. There does not look like there is much room for suspension travel. Yet they are used for tarmac rally.
They have some amazing historic rally videos on utube. They are fast, and the course looks dangerous. |

Lester kits are very common in Italy. Don't expect the finest quality; those parts are inteded for race cars!

Thanks for the feedback on the prior thread history - interesting.
And about Lester's race car quality. I think it would be more of a headache to get 934 flares to fit compared to cleaning up the Lester's a bit. Just an opinion. If anyone is interested, here is a list of dealers in the USA from the Lester web site. I have a request in for current pricing and shipping etc. The following dealers are present in the USA area: Abrahams Motorsport PO Box 5123 - Hudson Florida 34674 (727) 992-0288 Web site: Abrahams Motorsport - Home Email: sales@abrahamsmotorsport.com ASG - AR Ricambi 28606 Pittman Hill Road - CLOVIS, CA 93619 Phone +1.559 299 6282 +1.800.225.2532 Fax +1.559 299.3942 Email: autosysg@earthlink.net - arricambi@gmail.com MADNESS Autoworks (DBA: 500 MADNESS) 2716 Dawson Avenue Signal Hill, CA 90755 562-981-6800 Web site: MADNESS AUTOWORKS - Automotive Accessories & Customization - Home » 500 MADNESS - FIAT 500 Parts and Accessories |

any update on this? Did anyone in the US ever get the kit from Lester or hear back from their dealers? I'm looking for something similar and would like to avoid hacking up a 934 kit.
EB Motorsport is now making and selling their own version of the Almeras or Group 4 bodywork and it looks nice, this is what the Tuthill cars run. I have requested a quote from Rothsport, their US dealer, for the valance and flares. I'm afraid it's going to be too expensive to justify, although they have a very good reputation. I did hear back from the Lester dealer in FLA, Abrahams Motorsport. They are willing to bring in a kit, but it is not something they would stock. He said if I was not in a hurry they could put it with a normal stocking order and it would save some shipping that way. The project got side tracked and I did not order them yet. Sorry I don't have any specific info on the EB parts but they look nice in those photos.

If anyone is interested, the price I was quoted for the body work was ~$1500 (including customs fees). This was just for the flares and front valance, I planned on using my own bumpers. Unfortunately the shipping added another ~$1000 to the total (shipped to California). So the total was about $2500 for the EB parts. The EB parts have been reworked and retooled so they are supposed to fit really well, unlike some of the cheaper options. Too much $$ for me though so I'll have to do something different on this build. I might try the 934 flares that were mocked up in this thread:
Where can I buy these flares? We'll see... Last edited by Cory M; 03-20-2015 at 03:05 PM.. |
