E suspension swop

instead of replacing the whole front suspension can strut assemblies be switched?

Porsche Crest

All of the illustrated parts in the factory update 'kit' must be changed to obtain adjustable torsion bar suspension ... struts alone wouldn't give you any springing medium, rather a rough ride, I suspect!

Not sure if this will help....I have some Boge black strut housings and the matching calipers with 3" bolt spacing. Will sell for cheap if they will work for your application.

Warren's words are atypically gentle- "rough" is an understatement. By only replacing the struts, you have no springs. You need the crossmember and A-arms so that you can mount torsion bars (those are the springs). The springs (t-bars) and shocks (struts) work together; they must both be present to function. A car with no front springs would be undrivable- consider a fully extended shock. You can compress it with your body strength, right? Now imagine the weight of the front of the car on the struts, with no springs returning the front end of the car to it's neutral position.. talk about a lowrider!

I believe someone up the street from me has a full set of suspension components ready to sell to you, but has not heard back from you regarding his email of a few weeks back. I suggested to him that you blew it off due to the asking price which I understand was high. He said it was negotiable as the parts are simply taking up space. Perhaps you should try contacting him to get a deal going. Attach 8 bolts, tie rods, brake lines, sway bar, alignment, and you're done.
