Need help with Clint Smith Rebel Racing Products
Hi,
I ordered a bunch of parts from Clint Smith at Rebel Racing Products on 3/2. The payment was processed and confirmed yet I have yet to receive the parts or a shipping confirmation. I have tried to contact him several times both phone numbers and all three emails on his website. He has not responded to anything. I even went as far as leaving a message with a different number associated with the address of his business I found on Google, and sending him a PM to his screen name on Pelican Forum. If anyone has any additional information on how to get ahold of him I would greatly appreciate it. I have used Clint in the past and he seems like a good guy and his products are great. I am in noway trying to bash him by posting this I am just looking to get the ordered parts as I am trying to get the car put together before the first race in April. Please help or if you know him direct him to this thread. Thanks , Steve |

This seems to pop up every few months. I have had one very easy transaction with them and would like to pick up a couple more things but with all of the trouble people are having I am very hesitant to place that next order.

Clint treated me great and he actually discounted costs to me (vs some other vendors). Product was like jewelry - installation went very well.
However he is hard to get ahold of sometimes. He has a partner in crime here on RL too. Sometimes easier to contact him. Sorry - forgot his name. Just my two pennies

I have ordered several items from Clint (some pretty pricey ones, too). I have found him to be more than fair. You probably won't get a shipping confirmation or tracking number (I never have), but you will get your parts, and they will be magnificent. When stuff took longer than expected (one experience), it was because of an issue he had with his suppliers. In that case, he made up for it by substituing a more expensive model at HIS cost. He is not Amazon; he's an enthusiast/small business owner trying to make it all work.

Clint makes a top quality product. I have learned to have patience w several vendors. We are dealing w classic cars. I'm glad people are still making these parts for my hobby.

i tried to buy a whole suspension system off him for my current project and couldn't get him to send me a quote (after him telling me that he had in stock) so that I could pay him. After several weeks of run around I figured that it didnt matter how good the parts were, if I could get him to do the simple things.......

Echo some of the other comments, Clint is a stand up guy, and makes quality parts, but can be hard to get a hold of sometimes. 2 Weeks is a long time to wait, but as a repeat very happy customer, I wouldn't be worried. Were I a first time customer, I would be, and understand your frustration, but I would have encouraged you to hold tight....
You really cant get better...... In looks or function, though original customs has an interesting set up too.

Clint called ten minutes after I canceled. Good guy apologized profusely! Was out of town for sometime. Clint makes nice stuff. The parts I ordered from the other vendor are in fact made by him. I just needed them and was getting impatient. Not trying to bash him, Most of my suspension is from him and I am very happy

He like needs to carry a cell phone and get call forwarding. There have been many where's Clint threads in the past.
The others are Restoration Design.....they recently sold so they have gotten better, PMS...after awhile you wish they didn't answer due to the 'tude. The guy that makes the Weber copies....only accepts faxed requests. Everyone has phoibles.....I drink......and chase wimmen.

I had a long frustrating experience with Clint. In the end I waited because I specifically wanted his parts. I was not disappointed at all with the parts but man was I fed up with the whole ordeal
If I were to ever buy parts there it would be under the assumption that I don't need them anytime soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

There are a few other online shops that sell RSR parts, might be a good option. I don't think the prices vary much from store to store.

I really like Clint, and I think he sells some well engineered products at reasonable prices. If you go to the other vendors, you'll pay a lot more. I guess you have to weight cost vs. responsiveness.
I bought a coil over system with custom struts, etc. It was a big order. Clint spent a bunch of time with me on the phone to ensure my vision for my suspension was met. It took some time to get the parts. I eventually got them all. I recommend you e-mail his other employees about your order. Parts really arrived quicker once I e-mailed everyone a Rebel. Good Luck! |
