Help!! Inanition switch removal issue!

I can't get the whole unit out! I have the break off bolts off and the steering isn't locked.. when I go to slide it out the threads on the key body get caught up half way out on the brass plate it goes through.. Searched and tried other peoples resolutions with no luck...

Help would be muuuuch appreciated

Well, there is another bolt which attaches the long sideways part of the lock assembly to the steering column. Curl up again like a pretzel and hunt for it. As I recall, it goes up from the bottom of things. An Allen? Been a while, but it is there.

Yes this has been removed.. Do I remove the 2 rivets that are on the front plate as well? Don't see that in the how to instructions

Got it!! Ugh ended up removing the rivets as I was able to dig deeper on the search to see that those had been removed before. Old one out.. new one in! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat3.gif

Thanks for posting this. It's on my feared short list. Good to have the hints

You're welcome! There is no shortage's of how-to's on this forum but always nice to know the small details on what holds things up sometimes.. I also removed the front seat to lay down on my back to get under the dash it.. made it was easier than it would have been with having the front seat in the car! I should also note the front seat is a fixed back momo with 4 bolts that hold it in.. not sure how hard it is to remove stock seat though, but I think def worth the trouble with the amount of time you spend under the dash
