I think both are really. Not sure where the small difference comes from but i've seen both on real momo's several times. The horn buttons have momo on the back unless they are very old, they don't have anything on the back.

These wheels and horn buttons are really beautiful. Very nice collection.

On the driver biographies, since these are legacy wheels, I respectfully suggest that Ronnie Peterson's and Gille Villeneuve's should mention they died racing. Doing the thing that made people want their names on these wheels.

Peterson died in 1978 after an accident at the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. He was 34.
Villeneuve died in 1982 after an accident in qualifying for the Belgian Grand Prix at Zolder. He was 32.

I agree, one of the reasons I put the Peterson on my 1978 SC. Tribute of sort as he died at Monza the same year. He was also very good friends and teammates of Mario Andretti, who I have met and have great admiration as a driver.

Nice thread,
I landed this Follmer Wheel and horn button today. Someone has treasured it for a while, still new in box.

Hey 9er, out of interest, what's the date code on the back of the Follmer wheel?

My Gilles Villeneuve wheel was in very poor condition and I could not find a replacement at any sort of reasonable price, so I had to strip the cover off and then try to repair the base.
It came up OK so I then had my trim guy put new leather on..... its no longer original but I think it is still pretty neat.

I have pretty much the same wheel as the wood wheel in post #1. It may be a bit lighter in color.
EDIT:
Mine may be a different sort of momo, judging by the fact mine has the holes in the spokes. It still makes the car steer really well.

@patkeefe: sounds as if yours might be a momo indy. In which case it isn't really comparable with the wooden wheel in post 1.

Here's a pic from the momo heritage event back in November:

And the wheels at my place when I was sorting them out:

Is anyone able to identify this signature?

I've got the "fat Jackie" with plaid striped helmet horn button and Giles V. models in my stash. Not sure if I will ever mount them again.

NOS Benetton, I know Robin showed a nice one in his beautiful collection photo, but this is just a close up.
