Front Torsion Bar Seal - Sanders T/B's
Got used Sanders bars! In reading the tech article (or someplace), author mentioned that he could have fabricated the foam seals. I can't seem to justify ordering new ones from our sponsor and waiting for these cheap items. I am very impatient when it comes to waiting.
Is this advisable? What is the circumference and thickness of a brand new foam. I have tons of foam in my garage and I could easily fab these. Lastly, the Sander bars look like they have no left nor right marking. Am I correct to assume that they can be installed in any way! |

Considering that Pelican is only around 35 miles away from Agoura Hills, why not drive there and pick up the right part and do it right!
Sanders bars are very nice and well worth protecting. joe

You are correct that Sander doesn't have left and right.
For the seals, it's nothing special. I'd use a closed-cell foam, probably 1/2-3/4 inch thick.

Joe,
I am actually about 15 miles from El Segundo. I normally pick up my stuff; however, I just received closed to $500.00 worth of stuff from our sponsor (my first mail order) and just pi!!ed at myself for forgetting to order the stuff. Going to the LAX direction....well, you know how bad it could get. I just don't feel like driving to pick-up $10.00 bucks worth of 'foam' I could fabricate. I'm still deciding! I, most likely, will follow Chuck's advise and buy foam from my local Do-It Cener (1 mile from my house). |
