adjustable voltage regulator 1975 2.7L

i installed a rebuilt alternator and new stock voltage regulator. the alternator would not charge. Removed it and had it tested again. Everything was good but the alternator shop recommended an adjustable voltage regulator.
After i installed it the alternator works perfectly (3 years ago) .
Some posters have asked what the number was of the adjustable VR.
It is a transpo# IB301A
Note that it has the male lugs that mate with the female 3 prong connector and does not require any rewiring.
