Light or Dark Floor Mats

I spent my last 9 months of ownership debating and inevitably never pulling the trigger on new floor mats. The only original floor mat I received from the PO was the drivers, but the others were some old dark blue ones that had seen better days.

The mats were not only faded, they were wrinkling and bending in places, wouldn't stay put, and the rubber backing was crumbling off and making what looked like black sand all over the champagne carpeting. They had to go.

I kept debating between coco-mats with black and champagne, new dark blue mats to accent the interior, champagne mats to match the carpet, etc. I was very hesitant to go with champagne, as I was afraid they would get too dirty too quick. After all this back and forth, I realized they are just silly floor mats and if they get dirty in a few years, I can just re-order new ones. So I pulled the trigger and love the results.

Besides the fact that it obviously updated the quality of the carpeting, it really brightened up the entire interior and I am SO GLAD I went with the light colored mats. Here is a side by side comparison where you can really see the difference:

The only thing I would change likely is the thread color for the scripting. I selected the "medium blue" thread, when I should have selected either the lighter to match my exterior, or the darker blue to match the interior, but overall I am happy. Anyway, nothing technical, but hopefully I can help if there are any others out there debating on colors to match the Champagne interior.

Kevin

I'm definitely liking the light mats. You chose well.

The light mats are a little harder to keep clean but they do look very classy. Good choice.

I have the identical interior to you, but with a Marine Blue exterior.

I'm just about to pull the trigger on new carpets and I have been debating between Champagne or Navy, I'm more inclined to go with Navy as the Champagne carpets just get dirty so easily.

Have you recently recovered your seats? as they look perfect.

Yeah I believe the PO(or one of them) recovered the seats at some point pretty recently I would assume. You can certainly tell a difference when compared to the rears if you look closely and feel them.

They are LLoyd's Mats and there is a link to the design wizard directly from the Pelican parts catalog. If you are more patient than me, they will send you thread samples and such if needed. Good product.

Have the same color seats, door cards and carpet but the other interior bits (dash - door tops - parcel shelf) are a dark burgundy brown. I also have mats similar to yours but a bit more light in color. I just know they will get dirty and being a fanatic I would be cleaning them constantly - so am looking for some mats in a dark burgundy brown, but will probably have to have them made since I can't find any. I really like yours and wish I could go that way. I really like the look.

I'm a pragmatist. Dark, weatherproof mats for me.

Love the look.
My interior is black, so I ordered the logo in matching body accent color as well.
