Cleaning CIS hard fuel lines?
I am stuck making any other progress until some parts arrive tomorrow so I'm occupying my time with little goofy things.
![]() There is nothing wrong with my fuel lines. This is purely cosmetic. There is some rust on the outside and hard scale buildup on the flared ends and nuts. What's the best way to clean them? Soak the ends in something like brake cleaner? For the rust I could use a small Dremel wire wheel or fine sandpaper. Is there something I could put on them to protect them from corrosion? My first thought was Gibbs. Yea I know... I feel like I'm pressing my shoelaces...

I would at least try some fine steel wool and elbow grease on the lines.

+1 on steel wool. I used it to clean up several bits and pieces on my engine. It conforms to round shapes much easier than sandpaper. It brings a shine to basically all the metal I tried it on.

I like Scotchbrite for cleaning metal stuff like this.
