It looks very much like it.

The spare parts alone are probably worth $200K!!!!

There is a Porsche 356 club in Havana, I'm not in contact with them but I travel often to Cuba and have some friends in the Miramar sports car club and the Havana motor club where I have my 57 Caddy registered, I don't think any 911's made it to Cuba, last cars were imported in 1960, a few in 61.

Pretty sure this calls for a trip to Cuba. Guess that's where I'll stop by this summer, been wanting to plan a trip for a couple months now. I guess I'll see what Porsches are out there!

If there were any Porsches there I'm sure they all ended up in the hands of communist officials.

I remember hearing of/reading about, many years ago, about a Carrera Speedster that was supposedly hidden away in a cave as the old regime fell. To be retrieved "a couple of years later" after Castro was gone. We know how that went. So if true where might that car be now? If it was ever true probably rusted away like that gulling now.

My wife is headed to Cuba end of this month (Mar), I had intended for her to take lots of car pics, so I 'll be sure she does now that there is some interest. She might not see any Porsches, but there should be plenty of other stuff from the mid '50's.

She was going with her 3 sisters. but one sister lives in Boston (still a Canadian) but still not allowed to go. Too bad.

Another.

BTW, Canadians, british, other Europeans have been going there for years, so if there were exotics to be had Americans are late to the party.

...and any cars that are still running there are pretty much guaranteed not to be as originally delivered.

I have been to Cuba. The media has everyone believing that Cuba is some kind of classic car mecca. It is true that there are a lot of old classic cars on the road, but out of necessity not how we in the U.S. Would classify it. The cars are used as daily transportation, so they obviously can't have original parts 67 Chevy's, let alone 911's, hitting the roads. The majority of the cars you see are a hodgepodge of parts, engines, interiors, etc. It's basically a novelty to see, not something where you would see immaculate survivors. You will see better classic cars at a cars and coffee here in the U.S. than you would in Cuba. It's interesting to see so many old cars on the road, but that's about it. Very few are up to par with what you would see here.

I was in Cuba about 22yrs ago and drove the first 2 new Harley Davidsons there since the revolution.
They were 'toy's aboard a luxury yacht visiting there.
The local Harley group requested a 'meet up' in Marina Hemingway and they appeared with their old bikes which were a blend of old and new parts. If they could not adapt a part from a Soviet Bike, they would machine it from scratch - if possible.
Not Porsche related, but I can imagine how any Porsches would not be a shadow of what they once were.
Cuba a great Island with fantastic, warm people!

Hah, yeah, I was going to say, that looks pretty obviously like gullwing SL. Even that sheetmetal is worth some bucks.

Here's one I photographed outside a nightclub in Havana in 2011. It was in very good condition.

We have been to Cuba many times and have seen some classics, but from what I have heard these cars are considered a country heritage and can not be exported.
Somewhat of a tourist draw now a days.
