1970 2.2 T converting to 70.4 mm crank
 

Hi. I've got a stock 1970 911T that never has been apart and needs a rebuild. It leaks like a sieve. All the O rings have turned to dust.
While rebuilding, I have the opportunity to install a 70.4 mm crank and rods from a 2.7 liter.
Lets assume the original pistons and cylinders are reusable. (Cast iron cylinders honed and new rings.)
What compression ratio will this combination create?

Also, will the original flywheel bolt up to the 70.4 mm crank.

You ought to post over on the engine build thread on this one so the guys like Henry or Walt could chime in. To answer your question, yes the 70.4 crank will work fine and should bump your comp ratio to about 9.0 / 1. The wrist pin heighth on the 2.2 pistons is different than the 2.4 piston hence the higher comp ratio. Your "T" cams should clear fine. While I had the case apart I would send it out for the oil bypass mod and squirters. Get Waynes and Bruces books and you'll learn quite a bit. Flywheel shoud work fine also. Hope this helps.
