1983 911 sc

Brand new to forum. Just ended up with an '83 SC with 118,000 miles on it. Body is in truly new condition, engine just completely rebuilt which, along with a very long list of other repairs/improvements, cost a bit over $25,000.

Questions:

Driver's seat needs new upholstery, headliner needs to be replaced, floor carpeting just got soaked from an open window with car setting outside.

- In the opinion of everyone out there, will a new interior substantially increase
the value or just improve ability to sell?

- Assuming the driver's seat fabric can't be perfectly matched to balance of
car's fabric, should the entire interior be replaced regardless of effect on value

I have never owned a Porsche - know quite a bit about them but know nothing of how to improve value. I do intend to sell the car.

118000 mile cars don't usually find there way into serious collections.Given this, I doubt a complete interior redo will help the value tremendously. You can certainly hurt the value by doing non-Porsche things to it. Keep it in the Porsche family in order to maximize potential value. . The carpet will dry out. The seat material can likely be sourced. Most every material Porsche ever used is available here or in Germany. I would make sure it had the correct Fuchs wheels, radio and toolkit in order to maximize value.

World upholstery kits, available from our host here has factory seat recover kits in original colors. Did my gray-beige 83sc and they look great. Good luck.

I would think you would care more if it looks good and is comfortable. In a rush to flip it?
