spinning shifter? this can't be good -
The shaft has been spinning in the ball for months. Makes shifting very exciting. Tried epoxy with no luck. Can I weld these guys together?

Made a little illustration in case it's confusing. Gonna' clear out the grease to see if there's any funny business hiding underneath. Anyone have thoughts?

Clean it up good and wire feed it. Slightly different types of steel, but the weld usually holds. Make sure you have it clocked in first so the knob doesn't hit your leg in 1st/rev.

I have a complete shifter with tunnel rod from a 1977 911 with a 915 trans if you are interested. Don't know if they are compatible to your style or not though.
