Oh my gawd that was fun !!
My first driver's training event. PCA Zone 2 HPDC. Man oh man that was a good time. With apologies to any old girlfriends that may browse this board, that was without qualification the most fun I've EVER had in a car.
![]() This old 'T' of mine may be 30-years-old, but you'd never tell as it went flying by p-cars 25 years younger ![]() It's gonna be a really long, cold, dark, harsh, dismal winter ![]() Greg

Greg,
Congrats and I'm with you. We went out to Gingerman for a track day a few weeks ago and horsed the 930 around for a while... It's not an easy car to drive, but had a blast running it around like a dirt tracker on steroids... ...and it's gonna be a looooong winter... WInters probably a good thing though, I couldn't afford to run for 12 months a year and keep up with maint...

Bring the “T” to the next tech session on Nov 2 and get it inspected for the Nov 9/10 DE event at Summit Point. Then come to the track on the 9th and tell registration that you are there and would like to drive if there are any “no shows” Bring your PCA card, driver’s license and checkbook. Potomac DE events always sell out but we often have folks that don’t show up too. Now you just might have 2 more days of track time and on the big track to boot.
BTW. Ya need to work on that little oil leak first! |

If getting passed by an early 911 rubs people the wrong way think of what a 912 going by does to 'em

Darn, the performance trick of the ages is no longer a secret. Namely, GREEN CARS ARE FASTER!

Despite the effort required, I always find these schools to be very rewarding, especially when a student begins to understand what their cars are actually capable of at the limit. To see the grins on their faces when they first grasp the concept of throttle steering is priceless, IMHO. TT

Well said, the look when TTO is first encountered on the training track is worth the price as well
![]() Instructing can be a rewarding pastime and in my own experience helps the instructor as well. You can see many things from the right seat, and you have to be on your toes 100%. |

For the driving school, we want the students to spin their cars. We even rent a big water truck and wet down the skidpads to lower the limits and save their tires. TT

I must admit the TTO was a blast, in a way. The car really felt wired into the end of my spine. It was never really a surprise to have the back-end swing out - somehow the car sublty communicated this was about to happen. A little gas and she tucked back in. Never a quick breakaway, but a few of times it went to far, e.g. "both feet in". Just during the brake, slalom and skippad exercises. She was as cooperative as could be on the track.
Just a blast!
