Installing SunVisors, help.. 67 911s

Hi Guys, i'm trying to install my sunshields after putting in a new headliner. Any thoughts on how to locate the holes?

If i can find one I can find them all. I'm in Denver and would love to look at someones car if available tonight or tomorrow and get the measurements.

You might consider showing up at the Lafayette CO coffee and cars on Saturday if you can't find anyone to help prior to this weekend. Usually there are a lot of P cars there and if you bring along some measuring tape and a camera, I bet someone would help out.

I'd be happy to do so myself but I don't think you'd find my 75 targa helpful!

Not sure where you are in Montana, I'm in Missoula. I cheated. I had a fine upholstery shop here do my headliner and install the "new" sun visors. However, before I did all of this (the sun visors didn't exist before) I clearly remember feeling around for the screw holes. You obviously covered them up. I was fortunate to have sort of dirty places where the brackets had been. Press around with your fingers and hand in obvious places (above the windshield on the left and right and I'm sure you'll find them.

Good luck,

Tom

Hey Grizzfan. We need to get together next time i'm in Missoula, guessing thats where you live.

That's the method I've been using. I just need to find the position of one hole and I'm golden. Just dont want to mess up the brand new liner. Considering i drove it for 10 years with no headliner, you would think I could remember where them damm holes are.

thanks Winter. I just went to RowePerformance and looked at the 73 RS he has in there right now. Pretty car, but has the later style visors like your car has. I might make it over to Boulder and CarQuip in the morning to see what Tom might have there that isn't taken apart already.. or is taken apart and I can locate with a tape measure. Head home to MT in the afternoon. Bob

I looked at pictures to get a general idea of location, then I used a straight pin to find one of the holes. You can poke around and figure the hole size, then you can poke around to find its mates. The holes made with the pin are pretty much invisible.
Good luck,
Dave

thanks Dave, that's exactly what i did. I just started with putting the straight pin through one of the headliner perforations and guess what, hit a hole straight on with the first try. Took about an hour to conclusively find the other 7. Bob
