Bilstein coil over part numbers 2800-BE559543H0 and AK15754
I wasn't really planning on acquiring any suspension parts for my '86 Carrera (3.6 conversion) just yet, but I have been offered a nice new set of rear coilovers for a good price. The part numbers I have been given for the coilovers are 2800-BE559543H0 and AK15754. I was able to find the AK15754 number in a few old posts here. It appears to be a race shock for a 930.
I know the 930/Carrera trailing arms are different, but I have no idea if the rear shock bodies are any different dimensionally. The Pelican catalog lists the same Bilstein rear sport shock (24-009751-M712) for an '86 Carrera and 930, so I'm guessing the dimensions of the AK15754 are not different just because they are spec'ed for a 930. I guess my question is if the 2800-BE559543H0 / AK15754 Bilstein real coilovers will work on a SC/Carrera? Or, is there something special about them that makes them only suitable for a 930? TIA |
they should work, 930 trailing arms are wider, but the shocks are the same (I've got bilstein sports which are correct for a 930 on my '74 911)
If you move to coil overs, you may want to reinforce the shock towers, unless you're using the torsion bars to help offload some of the stress. RSR sells a kit for $90 you can weld in. http://rebelracingproducts.com/images/RSRRCOHK1.jpg http://rebelracingproducts.com/image...ps60f6dea2.jpg |
