MSD Rev Limit Setting

Installing a MSD Street Fire CD Ignition Box with MSD High Vibration Coil in a '77 911S with stock 2.7 SSIs and M&K 2 in 1 out.

What should I set the Rev Limit at? It comes with a 100 increment adjustment set at 6600rpm stock.

What should this be set at? Thanks for the help!

I have been wondering the same thing. I have a bunch if rev limiting chips and not sure which one to use.

Isn't redline annotated on the tach?

Set it at 6600 RPM since your engine has cast pistons.

Thanks Steve! My tach is more of a orange-ish redline block showing a range between 6400 and 6600.

I have the same set up in my '83SC with magnecore 8mm wires and a resistorless rotor. I set mine at 6500 and haven't had an issue with it over reving. I figure a couple hundred below redline wont hurt it.

Its a great set up for the price and beats the hell out of the alternatives.
