Another Fred Cook fan (Fuse Panel)
Hi guys,
It's Winter in Chicagoland, and perfect for doing wiring projects. I ordered Fred Cook's basic ATO blade type fuse panel. I already have headlight relays installed. He sent it to me in a very few days. It is beautifully made, and very well documented. It took me 7 1/2 hours to install, but hey it's Winter so who cares? I have pictures, but they are no different than anyone else's. It is tedious work, and it is easy to miss a wire on the lower fuse connectors when you are disassembling the old panel. But go carefully and label each terminal wire/wire group. I did all the tops, crimped, heat shrunk and labeled them. Then I did the bottom the same way. Then you pull the old fuse blocks, and verify where the jumpers are so they match Fred's. Then I installed the bottom, screwed the new panel in place, then inserted all the top wires. Removing the relays aids in exposure for the top. When I was done I reconnected the battery ground strap, and everything worked perfectly. I spent about 15 minutes removing my labels to make things neat. Then I covered it all up by replacing the stock fuse box cover, and nobody will even know I did anything. I am going to replace the 3-fuse block in the engine compartment with an ATO type in the next week or so. Anyway, Fred's product is fantastic, and he seems like a very competent and helpful guy. I am very grateful to him. Thanks, Dave

Thanks!
Thanks for the kind words, guys. Just doing my job! I know how tough it is to buy parts for a hobby car these days and how much Porsche owners want their cars to be "just right"! If anyone has a suggestion for improvement, please let me know. Happy driving!
