12v air pump
Anybody know of a 12volt (ie works from the cigarette lighter socket) tyre air pump that is a reasonable quality but competitively priced product available in the UK?........I read of a Porsche one in '911 and Porsche World' a while back but have lost track of the issue...... there must be others that people can recommend

The factory air pump isn't very expensive.
In the US, it wholesales for $36, retails for around $65. I see them advertised by dealers in Excellence for around $45. You probably can get it at your local dealer. |

What's up with these factory air compressors on eBay lately? I've seen some used ones selling for $100 or more. Are these buyers insane? I bid on one last year and let it go to someone else for around $40. The seller contacted me a couple days later and said he was a Porsche dealer from Florida and had a whole pallet of new ones was trying to liquidate and would sell them to me for $35 each. Should have taken him up on his offer and resold them a year later.

Check last month's Excellence (or maybe the month before). I recall a dealer was offering them for $44.
Its a common "ad special" for dealers in Excellence. I remember seeing them all the time. I was at the dealer cashing in my PCA $100 and asked for one. They had one, but it had a small cosmetic defect on the case. They said they'd give it to me for cost, which was $36. So, even with the $44 specials, the dealers are making a little. Its a nice unit, says "Porsche" on the outside of the case, and has the crest inside. |
