Front Strut Spacer

Evening Folks,

Hoping to get a quick answer on this one. I have the car jacked up and planning to do lots of stuff this weekend. One project was to remove the spacer on top of the front strut . Well, in looking at the top of the strut, I see the dust boot with the spacer on top of it and a big rubber disk on top of that. One thread I read mentions that NOTHING should be between the dust cap and the body. So does the rubber disk go?

Thanks in advance

the rubber disc is part of the top strut mount that bolts to the body. it stays. the toe-in will increase as the car is lowered.
