Hi,
I need an article out of the April '96 Excellence, which I don't have. I need the article in that issue that deals with replacing steel control arms with aluminum arms. Could someone with that issue and the ability to scan it, send me a copy of that article via Email, or post it to the BBS? Thanks! -Juan

I remember the article...or one just like it.
The arms were for the 924/944's. They were created because the original arms could not/or were very difficult to change the ball joints. Bob

No, that isn't it. The (rear) control arms in question are simply later model 911 control arms that were made of aluminum instead of steel. -Juan

Hi Chuck,
> Here it is. And authored by none other than > our own Sherwood Lee! Thanks for the article! Actually Sherwood is the one that pointed me to it. I didn't realize that he had written it! Regarding getting an early car, I'm looking for one right now. I'm trying to understand the issues with upgrading an early body to understand which year to get. I'd like to find something that would be fun now, but reasonably upgradeable for the future, and also streetable (no space for a trailer in SF). Clearly, the '72/73 vintage would be the best choice, however I haven't found one yet. Know of any good early body race cars for sale? -Juan
