Question on a 1968 911L engine.

Hi all,

The engine numbers are as follows 3280903 901/14 13326. I have been told this is a 1968 911L engine. The questions I have what is the purpose of the plugs in the intake area? was this for smog purposes or is this for the MFI system. Second question it looks to be a mag case but is there a way to tell for sure?. Thanks for the help.

On a '68, smog ports are on the exhaust.

Yup, plugged off MFI ports. The MFI pump drive is still present on the left cam. Flat flywheel. My guess is this a 2.4T engine.

Hallo Porscheaddic,
the engine has a mag-case. 901/14 had aluminium cases up to number 3280631.

Have a nice weekend.
