Battry Removal
I may need to swap out my battery for a new one. Got stranded last night.
I looked at the current battery and can not figure out how to remove it. Is there some sort of hold down clamp thing going on down there? How are most batteries held in place in a Porsche?

not sure about the 87 but on my 73 there's a clamp at the bottom that holds the battery inside the battery box. remove the nut holding that clamp then remove the hot terminal, then remove the wingnut holding the ground strap. then you can lift the whole thing out.
there should be an article on it. edit: and to prempt wayne: you really need the 101 projects book ![]()

There is a hold down clamp at the front of the battery, at the base. 1 bolt, 13mm I believe.

I'm pretty sure it's 13 mil too.. just didn't want to post it if I wasn't 100% sure.
