Module underneath stereo head unit?

On my '86, there's an aluminum box about 6x5x1" directly underneath the head unit. Can anyone tell me what this module is?

That would probably be the cruise control module.

The cruise control module is about 6 inches long, maybe 4.5" wide, and about 1.5" thick. It's mostly silver, but has a black plastic cover of one side of it. That's what's directly under my stereo.
