COLOR HELP!? Code 669-9-3

I have an '83 SC Coupe posted in the "For Sale" as I'm working to help a family friend sell the car.

The weather was great today and I had a lot of unanswered questions of my own about the car so asked the owner to really let me go through it...spent 2 hours scouring the car.

Up until today, the owner told me the car was Quartz Gray Metallic (as advertised and it's looks correct referencing from the internet) as it doesn't have a tag on the drivers door frame.

I was lucky to find a tag in the frunk but it has code 669-9-3 on it. I've spent the last 3 hours searching what very little information the internet has to offer and have come up with nothing.

The VIN: WP0AA0911DS121689

Any info is greatly appreciated

662 is Quarts Gray Metallic but I am sure you know that.

669 is not a standard color for 83.

Right, I'm thinking Paint to Sample.

Has been a CT car it's entire life, and I found a phone number for the original owner...doubt he'd remember.

I actually just went through the entire folder the current owner has and found a ton of great information...very cool to see the life and story emerge through the paperwork.

The internet can be a very powerful tool.

I just tracked down and spoke with the original owner of the car, now 78 years old. He told me "I blew his mind" making the phone call and asking the questions but had no clue about color info other than the car was dark metallic gray.

RATS!

It is not on any of my lists, so it would seem to be a custom color.

^ So something only the factory could identify?
