Tire size and type collection

Guys, I have owned my 73 911 for 36 years. It is a 2.7, and it used to be an autocross car(Mostly). I have stock 6" Fuchs wheels. I currently have 205/50 -15 yokohamas. I guess I am showing my age. I'm tired of the high revs, bottoming , and the jarring bumps. Give me some suggestions for a brand and tire size. I MIGHT do one autocross a year, so super sticky is not that important any more. and I don't do many miles at all- 500 to 1000 miles a year.
I'm thinking 60 series? , what brand is the hot setup? I don't care to change my wheel size. Thanks

I cannot say that I have a "hot" setup but I am running Toyo Eclipse 205/60/15. The PO had 215/60/15 on the rear and 205/60/15 on the front but with that combination I could not rotate the tires. I don't do any fast driving so maybe you want something different.

15" is going to limit your choices quite a bit. The Bridgestones I have been using happily for years are not made in 15".

A quick search on Tirerack show you about 30 choices in 205/50-15, compared to 174 for the 205/55-16 (stock front SC tires).

If it was me, for you stated needs, I would go to Tirerack and look for something with a treadwear number above about 300.

Modern tires have come so far, even the high treadwear ones stick pretty good, and are quite predictable. If you can notice the difference between a Bridgestone RE760 with a UTQG of 340 and a S-02 with a UTQG of 140 while driving on the street, you need to slow the hell down.
