High beam on all the time
1979 SC
All eletrics work BUT: -put indicators on (left or right), they will work correctly but the arrows in the dash will flash once in the correct direction then both arrows flash together. Externally the indicators are working correctly -high beam on as soon as the light switch is pulled to the 2nd position. I cannot turn high beam off -put indicators on, high beam turns off then it comes back on as soon as indicators are cancelled Where do I start with this one? Rafik |
I had a similar, but not exact issue. I was advised by a tech that it is likely an issue in the signal stock on the steering column with connectiv / grd. Suggestion was to use some electrical contact cleaner to try to clean it up. I didn't remove the switch, but did as recommended, and my problem was resolved (at least in the short term). Might try it, as it would be a simple fix - best I can offer right now. Good luck.

Ok the high beam issue sorted. Pulled the steering wheel off. The high beam connector behind the arm was pushed too far to the front, obviously from years od use. Bent it back flightly using a screw driver and now works as it should.
I ran a clean earth to the back of the tacho and the arrows seem to be working ok now |
Check the wattage of the turn signal bulbs, make sure they are not too low. You need to draw the correct current for them to work.
