Stereo / radio for 1971 911T

Hi everyone!

The previous owner of my car removed the original Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio, and replaces it with a new Pioneer stereo.

Unfortunately this pioneer stereo does not match the original look of my 911T very well, which is why I'm looking for a replacement.

The original Blaupunkt Frankfurt radios seems to be bloody expensive and hard to get hands on, which is why I was wondering if any of you have any experiences with with these new produced vintage looking stereos?

Which stereo do you have in your 1971 Porsche?

Best,
Niels

ScottTurnbull on this forum seems to have Frankfurt radios for sale on a somewhat regular basis. That's where I got the Frankfurt that I have in my 70T. Good guy to do business with and I thought his prices were ballpark. $4-500 for a working real 45 year old radio is not bad. There are other bits and pieces in your 71T interior that are MUCH more expensive and none of them play music.

Niels,

When you have an early 911,nothing is cheap as Gary pointed out.
Try Mike Fitton on the Early 911 S registry forum.
I had a Becker Grand Prix stereo in my 2.2 S and I have a Becker Europa stereo in my 914-6 now.
Very $$pendy but makes the other radios look very cheap !
Where are you ?

You guys are right, I should find an original Frankfurt.

I'm situated in Denmark, but I guess I could have one shipped from anywhere in the world.

Is eBay the right place to look?

Hello
Maybe you should take a look at the offers from CHROMELONDON Vintage Classic Car Radios For Sale. BLAUPUNKT GRUNDIG BECKER PHILIPS RADIOMOBILE OEM his prices are not cheap but they are consistent to what you'll find else ware. Also buying from an established restorer like this will give you the choice to have fitted a bluetooth interface for your cell phone music and hands-free calls on a vintage radio as well as a warranty that it will work correctly, besides London is way closer to you and they deal in european radio band head units.
hope this helps.
Cheers
MD

Niels,

I second Chrome London.
Try also Konigs Autoradio in Haan DE or Wagner in DE.
Just remember that on e bay the warranty may run out just before the radio is shipped !

Good luck
Dennis
