UPDATE!!! New York/New Jersey Autumn Mountain Drive!!
Hey all,
Just trying to kick-start a meet with all of you in the NY/NJ Tri-state area. Early in the summer, a bunch of us did a Bear-Mountain Run which was a blast. Well, I'm trying to get together an Autumn mountain drive which can start at the rest stop on the Palisades Parkway by exit 5 (the gas station area between N and S). It is very close to the NY/NJ border and can be taken Northbound for a fun and scenic drive. Anyone interested? Maybe a Sunday in Mid-November? regards,

O.K.,
Looks like we've got a few of us, but I'm sure many more will attend. How does Sunday, November 3rd. sound? We can meet between 10:00 and 10:30 at the rest stop, or another spot if more would prefer. Also, if someone could put a post on Rennlist, that would be great too( with a link to this thread). We can figure out the logistics of the drive later on. ciao,

O.K.,
Turns out the 3rd. isn't the best for me either, so how about November 10th? I'm out of town the other two weekends, so that's the only other date available. It's over two weeks away, and plenty of time to get a great turnout. ciao,

Hey All,
OK, here's the deal: SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 10TH, 2002 Meet will start at the service station by exit 5 on the Palisades Parkway by the NY/NJ Border from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. If you don't know it, you can't miss it....it's actually about 2 miles? once you cross over into New York. You can access it from both North and Southbound lanes, as the station is in the middle of the highway. There, anyone can gas up and get ready to go. There is a commuter lot on the premises as well, so we can all go there once you arrive. From there, we will proceed North and cross over the Bear Mountain Bridge (bear right afterwards) and then after some nice turns, we'll pull over at the overlook for a short period, then continue our drive. Great twisties. I'll get a map/directions of the course. Speaking of that, does anyone have a copy of our last route? Or, what website was used to obtain it? For now, it looks like we have around a dozen people committed, including the fellas from the other boards here at Pelican. Perhaps if we got Wayne to show, we'd get 50 or so, ha ha. I did not see a post regarding the drive on Rennlist......could someone put a thread(s) up? Also, please check in with me via email at jbripps@aol.com to confirm your participation. WIth that, I'll be able to email you the route ahead of time, and it would also let us know how many to expect. Keep your fingers crossed for the good weather. The drive won't take all day, and we'll meet for lunch afterwards at the end of the drive. My cell number is 845-461-3268 if you're running late and want us to hold up for a bit. regards,
