Making some wheel porn...

At age 33, being considered amount the younger generation of Porsche owners, I am sure this will not be for the purist.

I remember 12 years ago seeing my first set of BBS RS wheels on a slammed VW and decided one day I would have a set.

so here we go...

Start with rough set of centers found here on Pelican

Send them out to be triple chrome show plated

Contact Jae Lee and Mirage Intl' to make a custom set of 17" lips. I am going to be fitting a 17x8 wheel in the back of my narrow body 1974

Flat billet hubs from Euro Image

24k Gold plated

Begin assembly

Drop in new 24k plated bolts and lip

Add center weave and hub with new BBS RS black and gold center caps

Going on this

Just waiting on fender roller and new rear spring plate bushings as rear suspension needs to be adjusted.

Damn, those hubs are better looking than the hex ones. I've been thinking about running w/ out caps on my RS lately, but these billet caps are even better. In for installed pictures.

Damn dog, that's running ole skoole....need some air shocks now. Us older guys invented that look. I like it....on a 911 it looks kinda outta place. You changing the cars color. I've always wanted a 69 Riviera, black with dark purple ghost flames, slammed to the ground, Wilwood brakes, NASCAR suspension, NASCAR motor, full cage, lollipops, harnesses ....just a crazy night runner...really quiet, running nightvision headsup so the cops just say " did you just feel something shift in the time space continuum ?"....

I will admit on initial viewing, the wheels appeared to go to a different genre of vehicles with with the little chrome-ish window trim, the wheels are nicely tied in and the gold ties in with the green.

I like. Congrats!!!

Personally I love to see these cars customized, especially in ways that are important to the owner. While there is indeed something special about a stock vintage Porsche, what makes this hobby fun is the way people express themselves with their cars. I'm glad to see you got the wheels of your dreams! Great car!

As a fellow young 911 owner (34) I also love a good set of BBS RS's. That being said my only criticism would have been to make them a 16. Especially on a narrow body car. 17" is too much wheel in my opinion.

Other than that the bit of gold goes nicely with the green.
