I have 1984 3.2 in a 914. Car ran fine until i replaced the fuel lines on the motor and installed SS lines down the tunnel. Car won't start. Jumpered DME relay to make the pump run. I installed a fuel pressure gauge on the motor, no pressure. I removed the pressure hose from the SS line that exits the firewall under the motor, fuel comes out, but at the same rate whether the pump is on or not. I think I killed my pump.

Can you hear the pump running? If not...check for voltage at the pump while cranking the engine. If you have voltage, but no pressure and are absolutely sure that the lines are properly connected, then the pump is bad. I have accidentally mixed up the fuel lines before and it caused the same issue you are having, so double check ESPECIALLY if the pump runs but you have no pressure. P.S. COOL CAR!!

Thanks Casey!! You were right!! Some how I crossed the fuel lines in the tunnel. I now have fuel pressure, but the engine still won't start. I pulled a spark plug wire and tried testing a spark plug but the spark looked faint. I have a Bentley book with troubleshooting information in it. The motor ran fine before installing the 916 trans. Besides the fuel lines, the only change was the flywheel. I broke off the sensor pin and a shop welded it back on. I wonder if that's the problem. I will test the sensors next.
