Paint code
 

Does anyone know where to look for a paint code or option code plate if they are not in the usual spot? There are no paint code plates on the door pillars. the car is an 81 930, looks dark grey.

If all else fails, you can call Porsche Customer Service and ask them (you'll need the VIN). They will read to you the entire options list for the vehicle, including the paint code. For the $30, they will send you the Cardex, which is the same as the info above.

On an 88, there are two places (that I know of). A). Inside the boot on the opposite side of the porsche crest on the hood is a sticker with the paint code and the cars options and B). According to the bentley manual, inside the boot, remove the carpeting on the right front fender area, there's a plate with the color code and your color (in german). Hope this helps.
