Price of the 78 sc targa is up

I have insurance with American Collectors insurance full coverage for my 78 911 targa. Recently removed the engine went through everything, replaced brittle wires and anything else I could find wrong and fix.

I am also in the process of upgrading the carpeting and installing a whale tail. Once that is completed I will have the paint redone.

So I thought I need to bump up my coverage so I spoke with an agent. I explained what I was doing and stated I wanted to increase my insurance from the $16,000 that it is presently insured to to around $23,000.

The agent was very agreeable and said she would see what the value is to see if it could be increased. Well after a few minutes she told me that increasing the value would be no problem.

She then said the insurance value was between $26,000 to $34,000 and said I could increase it to $26,000 without any problem which is what I did.

So for full coverage and with a pay out of $26,000 my insurance rate went from $164.00 a year to $264.00 a year.

I am amazed that the value has increased so dramatically over the years. Life is good when you own a Porsche 911.
